Experts Starts Identifying Entry Points for the RHE Curriculum

Education and legal experts gathered at the CEAP National Office on August 18, 2025, to identify entry points for Catholic schools’ proposed Reproductive Health Education (RHE) curriculum.

CEAP Executive Director Narcy F. Ador Dionisio facilitated the workshop, providing a comprehensive briefing on the RHE curriculum in light of the Department of Education’s policies and guidelines. He also outlined CEAP’s proposed RHE entry points, which include: Grades 4-6 โ€“ Respect for Life and the Body; Grades 7-8 โ€“ Identity, Sexuality, and Relationships; Grades 9-10 โ€“ Authentic Love, Vocation, and Responsibility; and Grades 11-12 โ€“ Vocation, Mature Love, and Discernment.

Former Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno delivered an in-depth discussion on the Constitution and existing laws relevant to religious educators, underscoring the legal context in which the curriculum is being developed.

The Technical Working Group (TWG) of the RHE Curriculum writeshop is composed of Ms. Geraldine Pancho (Adamson University), Ms. Marites R. Veloso and Ms. Mary Grace S. Santos (Ateneo de Manila University, Basic Education Department), Ms. Elen Joy Bruza (St. Scholastica’s College), Ms. Katrina Tomo and Ms. Mary Elizabeth Guce (Xavier School San Juan).
Representing NCFC were Atty. Jochebed dela Cruz (Counsel for Legislative Affairs, CEdNet), Ms. Chelina Gutierrez (Education Task Force Head, NCFC), and Dr. Kristina Azaรฑa (Assistant Executive Director, NCFC).

The initiative is being led by the CEAP Advocacy and Public Engagement Unit, which spearheaded the organization and coordination of the writeshop. This effort forms part of CEAP’s continuing commitment to provide value-based education that respects life, family, and human dignity.
