Hundreds of school administrators and Catholic educators participated in the CEAP Special Learning Session No. 31 titled “Partnership in Energy and Peace: What the Middle East Tension Teaches Schools and Societies” held on April 24, 2026, via Zoom.

Sr. Merceditas O. Ang, SPC, CEAP Trustee-at-Large and President of St. Paul University Philippinesโ€“Tuguegarao, led the discussion, urging educational institutions to move beyond awareness and take an active role in addressing global disruptions through integrated peace, sustainability, and innovation initiatives.

“True transformation requires active engagement from all sectorsโ€”students, educators, communities, and global partners,” Sr. Ang said, emphasizing that peace-building and energy conservation must be embedded in institutional practice as shared responsibility rather than isolated advocacy.

She underscored the importance of embedding energy efficiency, ecological stewardship, and adaptive learning strategies in schools, citing SPUP’s initiatives such as intelligent energy management systems, climate-responsive campus design, and student-led innovations, including solar-powered technologies and AI-based energy monitoring tools.

Sr. Ang also highlighted the role of psycho-spiritual integration, mental health support systems, and interfaith dialogue in strengthening resilience among learners amid global uncertainty. She further presented SPUP’s “BRIDGE Framework,” which promotes intercultural dialogue, gospel values, and ecumenism as foundations for inclusive belonging and social cohesion.
The session concluded with reflections from Mr. Narcy F. Ador Dionisio, CEAP Executive Director, who emphasized cross-sector collaboration, justice-centered sustainability, and transformative leadership anchored on the common good and future generations.

The CEAP Advocacy and Public Engagement Unit led the learning session, facilitated by Ms. Louise Faith E. Gayatao, Assistant of the unit, who also served as emcee of the program. The activity is part of the CEAP Special Learning Sessions, which continue to address pressing issues affecting Catholic education.
