The Philippine Catholic Schools Standards for Basic Education (PCSS-BE) 2nd Edition was officially launched on September 30, 2025, during Day 0 of the CEAP National Convention at the SMX Convention Center, Manila.
Leading the launch were Fr. Alain P. Manalo, Commission Chair, and Dr. Cynthia C. Arcadio, PCSS-BE Chairperson, together with the PCSS-BE Technical Consultants: Fr. Elmer Dizon, Mr. Jose Ramelle Javier, Ms. Amelia Ronquillo, Msgr. Michael Feliciano Veneracion, and Fr. Enrique Thadeu Balongag. Also in attendance were Ms. Penny R. Sibal, President of Phoenix Publishing House, Inc., and Ms. Maria Erlinda Sibal, President of Phoenix Educational Foundation, Inc. (PEFI)
During the ceremony, the document was symbolically turned over to the CEAP Board of Trustees, led by the Executive Committee members: Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ, President; Fr. Wilmer Joseph S. Tria, Vice President; Br. Edmundo L. Fernandez, FSC, Treasurer; Br. Joaquin Severino S. Martinez, FSC, Corporate Secretary; and Mr. Narcy F. Ador Dionisio, Executive Director.
The launch of the second edition marks the culmination of a long and meaningful journey, an achievement made possible through the team’s unwavering commitment and collaboration. The publication of the official document is currently underway.
This updated edition embodies CEAP’s continuing commitment to making the standards more accessible, practical, and responsive to the needs of Catholic schools, preserving their Catholic identity while empowering institutions to deliver transformative education rooted in faith, service, and excellence.
