Catholic educators and school leaders from Region 3 gathered at Holy Angel University on August 11, 2026, for the CEAP Region 3 Regional Assembly 2026, reflecting on the theme, “Newness in Catholic Education: Charting a Constellation of Hope.”
The gathering began with the Eucharistic Celebration at the University Chapel, presided over by Fr. Jefferson G. Bacani, PhD, with Fr. Joel T. Huerto, serving as homilist.
Rooted in prayer and communion, the celebration opened a day of reflection on how Catholic education can respond to a changing world with renewed faith, courage, and hope.
In his reflection, Fr. Bacani reminded the assembly that the journey of the Church must be undertaken together: “We do not have all the answers. The Church is on a journey together.”
This spirit of walking together continued throughout the assembly. Drawing from the Church’s call to synodality, Fr. Lloyd A. Nepomuceno, CEAP Region 3 Trustee, invited educators to see their mission as part of a greater constellation—one sustained by collaboration rather than competition.
“This is what synodality asks us to become—a constellation. Synodality says connect. Do not compete when you can collaborate. We will face tomorrow together,” Fr. Lloyd emphasized.
In his keynote address, Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ, CEAP President and President of Ateneo de Davao University, invited educators to renew their shared mission by bringing together the different dimensions of Catholic education. He encouraged participants to imagine new ways of accompanying learners and serving their communities amid a rapidly changing educational landscape.
Fr. San Juan described educators as “choreographers of hope”—people who help create spaces where hope can take shape through relationships, learning, faith, and service. In this vision, Catholic education is not merely about preparing students for the future. It is also about helping shape a future marked by compassion, solidarity, and hope.
The afternoon sessions brought this call to renewal closer to the everyday realities of schools. Rev. Fr. Glenn William Z. Relucio, Trustee of CEAP-NCR and Superintendent of the Diocese of Antipolo Catholic Schools System, spoke on the importance of creating safe and enabling learning environments, highlighting access, equity, learner support, and psychosocial safety.
Meanwhile, Mr. Narcy F. Ador Dionisio, CEAP Executive Director, led a session on remediation and enrichment across learning terms, focusing on teaching, learning, and curriculum transformation in basic education. The discussion emphasized the responsibility of schools to respond attentively to the diverse needs of learners and to ensure that no one is left behind.
Beyond the presentations, the assembly became a space for listening, conversation, consultation, and shared discernment. Participants were reminded that renewal begins with attentiveness—to learners, to one another, and to the signs of the times.
The gathering concluded with a reflection and synthesis led by Dr. Amado Galo J. Estonillo III, Chair of NHEC-CEAP 3, followed by a closing message and prayer.
More than a regional gathering, the assembly became an occasion for communion and renewed purpose. It affirmed that the future of Catholic education is not shaped by one school or educator alone, but by a community willing to journey together, bringing each person’s gifts and light to a greater constellation of hope.
As Region 3 continues its educational mission, the invitation is clear: to welcome newness with courage, remain rooted in faith, and become choreographers of hope—educators who, together, help illuminate a path forward for every learner and community entrusted to Catholic education.
