March 23, 2026 – Educators, administrators, and policymakers took a significant step toward reforming the country’s secondary education landscape on Day 1 of the two-day Strengthened Senior High School Implementation Planning Workshop.
Nearly 700 participants gathered under the theme, “Strengthening Systems for a Seamless Strengthened Senior High School Full Implementation,” to finalize the roadmap for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.
The workshop focused on ten critical domains designed to ensure the program’s success. These pillars represent a holistic approach to student readiness and institutional efficiency:
- Curriculum Alignment and Program Design
- Academic Pathways and Elective Clusters
- Faculty Development and Teacher Upskilling
- Pedagogy, Assessment, and Learning Design
- Work Immersion and Industry Partnerships
- Student Guidance and Career Navigation
- Infrastructure and Learning Resources
- Governance, Policy, and Quality Assurance
- Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Continuous Improvement
Sessions emphasized bridging the gap between theoretical design and classroom implementation. By exploring strategies to align elective clusters with local economic needs and enhance access to learning resources, the workshop aims to ensure a seamless transition for the first full cohort under the strengthened Senior High School model.
