MANILA CITY – In the pursuit of faith-integrated, curriculum-aligned Enhanced Araling Panlipunan (AP), the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) and REX Education has signed a Memorandum of Agreement on July 31, 2026 during the National Capital Region (NCR) Assembly held at Dr. Robert C. Sy Grand Ballroom in the Buenaventura G. Paredes, OP (BGPOP) Building at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
CEAP was represented by its President Fr. Karel S. San Juan, Executive Director Mr. Narcy F. Ador Dionisio, and NCR Trustee Fr. Glenn William Z. Relucio, while REX was represented by President and Chairman Atty. Dominador D. Buhain, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Don Timothy I. Buhain, Chief External Affairs Officer Ms. Danda Crimelda I. Buhain, and Chief Marketing Officer Ms. Jeanne Marie F. Tordesillas.
Joining the team of developing the AP Curriculum are the following esteemed members of the Catholic Association of Social Science Teachers (CASST): Assistant Principal of Blessed Sacrament School Mr Wilson Padillon, High School AP Supervisor of Immaculate Conception Academy Mrs. Loida T. Degorio, and AP Teacher and AP Coordinator (Grades 1-10) of Claret School of Quezon City Mr. Kristiene Nathaniel Miranda and Ms. Rosanna A. Diwa, respectively.
Entailing the agreement signed is the responsibilities of each organization, with CEAP being responsible for the development of the enhanced Araling Panlipunan Curriculum, and REX Education for publishing and producing worktext aligned with the curriculum developed by the former.
Furthermore, the agreement extends beyond curriculum development to institutional capacity-building, recognizing that educational excellence, quality assurance, leadership formation, and continuous school improvement are best achieved through sustained collaboration while respecting the mission and autonomy of Catholic educational institutions.
Under the partnership, CEAP and REX Education will work together in providing mentoring and coaching assistance to selected Catholic schools in preparation for accreditation, as well as conducting a series of capacity-building webinars focusing on the different aspects and standards of quality assurance. These initiatives aim to strengthen school leadership, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and support member schools in their pursuit of educational excellence.
Through this collaboration, CEAP continues to strengthen its commitment to providing Catholic schools with relevant, faith-integrated, and future-ready educational resources while fostering institutional development that responds to the evolving needs of learners, educators, and school communities.
