CEAP Participates in Validation Workshop to Enhance the Teacher Education Roadmap 2025-2035 with Teacher Education Council

On August 7, 2025, the Teacher Education Council convened a validation workshop on the Teacher Education Roadmap that brought together civil society and non-government organizations to review the working draft of the 2025-2035 roadmap at Hotel Benilde, Manila. This workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to give feedback on the vision, mission, strategic pillars, and programs designed to elevate and professionalize the teaching profession in the Philippines. The collaborative discussion underscored the need for an inclusive and adaptable framework responsive to diverse educational contexts.

The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) played an active role in the consultations by emphasizing the principle of complementarity between public and private educational institutions. CEAP advocated for the inclusion of capacity-building workshops for educators and proposed that educator impact be recognized and supported through practical measures. CEAP also strongly called for government subsidies to be extended to private school teachers, ensuring they receive equal opportunities for professional development.

After the workshop, stakeholders—including CEAP—reached several key resolutions to be incorporated into the final roadmap. These included the recognition of public-private complementarity, a commitment to equitable capacity-building initiatives, and support mechanisms for educators across all sectors. The discussions fostered a unified approach to improving teacher education and ensuring that all educators, regardless of institution, are equipped and their contributions meaningfully recognized.
