The Advocacy and Public Engagement Unit (APU) of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) represented the Association at the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Center for Energy, Ecology, and Development (CEED) held last July 31, 2026. With the theme, “Our Roots and Routes: Celebrating a Decade of Communities Protecting Nature and Powering the Future.” The gathering brought together communities, civil society groups, faith institutions, and partners who have journeyed with CEED in advancing ecological justice and people-centered development in the Philippines.
Throughout the program, speakers reflected on CEED’s beginnings, and its steady growth into a leading voice against fossil fuel expansion, for renewable energy, and in defense of biodiversity and just food systems. Stories of courage from communities at the frontlines of ecological struggles were honored, reminding all present that the movement’s strength lies in solidarity and collaboration.
By joining the celebration, CEAP’s Advocacy and Public Engagement Unit (APU) affirmed CEAP’s solidarity with CEED’s mission. As a faith-rooted educational community, CEAP shares in this advocacy by forming consciences, fostering dialogue, and empowering communities to care for our common home. Guided by Catholic Social Teaching and Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, CEAP upholds that the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor are inseparable.
CEED’s journey is a testament to the power of collective action. For CEAP, it is also a call to continue nurturing generations of learners and advocates who will carry forward the values of justice, stewardship, and hope. As CEED charts new routes toward a sustainable and people-powered future, CEAP stands in solidarity, ready to walk alongside communities and partners in protecting creation and advancing ecological justice.
