Nearly 500 Catholic educators and school leaders from across Western Visayas convened for the CEAP Region 6 Assembly held on August 1, 2025, at Ateneo de Iloilo – Santa Maria Catholic School, with the theme “Journeying Together in Grace and Mission: Forming Hope-Filled, Future-Ready Catholic Communities.”
The assembly opened with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Most Rev. Midyphil Billones, D.D., Archbishop of Jaro. In his homily, Archbishop Billones reminded Catholic educators of the power of authentic witness in the classroom.
Following the Mass, Fr. Jose Gualberto Villasis, PhD, Assistant Regional Trustee, formally welcomed the participants and delivered the Assembly Rationale, highlighting the region’s unique challenges and opportunities for Catholic education. He described the gathering as a synodal journey—a call to “listen to our fellows” and to “renew our commitment to Catholic education” as a shared mission.
CEAP National Officers, led by President Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ, graced the regional assembly, with Fr. San Juan delivering an inspirational message on the vital role of Catholic schools in shaping a just and hopeful society. CEAP Executive Director Mr. Narcy Ador Dionisio followed with a comprehensive report on national programs, advocacy efforts, and support services, including updates on capacity-building and legislative engagements.
The event brought together delegates from the Diocese of San Jose de Antique, Archdiocese of Capiz, Diocese of Kalibo, and Archdiocese of Jaro, fostering solidarity and collaboration across diocesan and school communities
