CEAP Special Learning Session No. 24 Highlights Global Compact on Education

February 11, 2026 — The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) held its 24th Special Learning Session (SLS) titled “Together Looking Beyond: How the Global Compact on Education is Shaping Learning.” The event gathered 200 participants from Catholic schools nationwide.

Keynote speaker Fr. Alain P. Manalo, Superintendent of Diocesan Schools in Imus, Chair of the CEAP PCSS Commission and Vice-President for Asia, International Office for Catholic Education (OIEC), emphasized Pope Francis’ vision of education as a path to “universal brotherhood for the construction of a new civilization.” He outlined the Global Compact on Education’s (GCE) seven commitments and highlighted three additional themes presented in Constellations of Hope: nurturing the inner life, fostering responsible use of technology, and advancing peace and social harmony.

Fr. Manalo further clustered the ten commitments into five themes: upholding human dignity and empowering women; nurturing the inner life and listening to youth; fostering responsible technology use; welcoming the vulnerable while renewing economy and politics; caring for the common home and advancing peace; and empowering the family.

The discussion also drew parallels between the Global Compact on Education (GCE) and CEAP’s JEEPGY framework, underscoring shared values of humanistic, transformative, and synodal education. The program opened with a message from Mr. Narcy F. Ador Dionisio, CEAP Executive Director, and concluded with a Q&A session where participants shared reflections.

The session reaffirmed CEAP’s mission to renew educational projects and walk together in building a more inclusive, compassionate, and sustainable future.
