June 5, 2026 – In line with our mission to nurture holistic education and well‑being, Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) held a planning meeting with Ms. Abbey Rivadelo, licensed psychotherapist from the Emmaus Center for Psycho-Spiritual Formation and Accompaniment, on the development of a trauma-informed care program for schools.
The meeting was facilitated by CEAP Executive Director Mr. Narcy F. Ador Dionisio, together with the Advocacy and Public Engagement Unit. The team discussed the initial design and direction of the program as part of CEAP’s continuing efforts to strengthen formation initiatives across its member schools under the CEAP Pillars Program, specifically the JEEPGY framework.
Ms. Rivadelo, known for her work in counseling and psycho-spiritual formation, shared insights on translating psychological principles into practical skills for educators and student services personnel. She emphasized that “knowledge is not enough — it needs to be grounded in actionable skills.” She shared how her interactive workshops are designed to help participants not only understand trauma‑informed care but also apply it in their day-to-day work with students and colleagues.
The discussion explored the design of a four‑part developmental learning series tailored for guidance counselors and school leaders. Each session will build on the previous one, allowing time for reflection, absorption, and application. The program will also integrate interactive activities, learning checks, and opportunities for reflection — ensuring that participants gain both knowledge and practical skills.
The initial run is being planned for August 2026, with sessions continuing until April 2027. This series is envisioned as a cornerstone for professional development, equipping educators with trauma‑informed approaches that foster safe, compassionate, and resilient learning environments.
This collaboration reflects CEAP’s enduring mission to provide meaningful formation opportunities that bridge psychology and faith.
